SEA POINT, June 25 – The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel and Painted Wolf Wine Estate on Thursday presented their first winter 2015 instalment of the Hotel’s popular monthly Wine & Dine Evenings.

After a warm Sea Point welcome by Chris Godenir, the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel General Manager, the knowledgeable ambassador from the esteemed Painted Wolf Wine Estate, Jeremy Borg, informed guests on the art of wine-making, the qualities and attributes of each wine, as well as the reasons for each pairing.

Executive Chef, Hajierah Hamit, prepared a five-star gourmet set menu, each course specially prepared & paired with a complementing Painted Wolf wine.

To complement the persistently remarkable craft which has made Painted Wolf Wine Estate a triumph, Chef Hajierah’s menu kicked-off with caramelized onion and blue cheese ravioli with burnt Walnut butter. For an intermediate dish, guests were presented an Oxtail and Foie gras banger, with buttered rosemary mash and a red wine reduction.

For the main course, the chef rolled out slow roasted Springbuck shank served with sweet potato and leek roulade accompanied by a juniper berry Jus. To end off the evening, Chef Hajierah prepared chocolate fondant with Jack and Lime ice-cream, offsetting the vibrant and full flavours of the Painted Wolf wines.

“I have chosen very specific, warm, inventive dishes to complement the distinct aromas, blends and flavours of the wines on offer. We are very excited to bring Painted Wolf Wine Estate to our guests this month,” says Chef Hajierah.

Painted Wolf Wines was established by Jeremy and Emma Borg in 2007 after the pair worked in the culinary industry in San Francisco. Jeremy studied viticulture in California for many years before returning to Africa to search for like-minded grape growers, artists, conservationists and marketing experts to establish the Painted Wolf wine pack.

Today, Painted Wolf Wines prides itself on its vast collection of hand crafted, award-winning wines, holding conservation and passion as their central ideology.

The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel’s Wine & Dine evenings take place on the last Thursday of every month and are enjoyed as much for their exceptional cuisine and wines as for The Peninsula’s stunning location along Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard and the hotel’s enduring reputation for true Cape hospitality.

The Wine & Dine evenings will commence at 7:30 for 8:00 pm. To make a booking at R225 per person (including wine), call the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel on 021 430 777 or email confer@peninsula.co.za.
