STROLLA, a new restaurant, has opened its door at a famous Atlantic Seaboard landmark.
Set to become Cape Town’s definitive seaboard dining and socialising space, a trendy new restaurant, Strolla, has joined the iconic cache of establishments lining the Sea Point Promenade.
Privately-owned but situated at the Peninsula All Suite Hotel, Strolla brings a fresh, new in-door-outdoor dining energy to the landmark destination with a café, restaurant, bar and children’s entertainment area.
With its beachside minimalism and informal interior design, Strolla – presented by Sotano restaurateur, Brendon Crew – has a casual but elegant character that Crew has become re-nowned for.
“The focus is on delivering simple, well-made food while also serving as a relaxed, comfort-able rendezvous for wine or craft beer as people stroll along the Promenade,” says Brendon Crew.
Adorned with scene-setting freestanding umbrellas, the café (open from 7am) is the perfect continental breakfast and coffee stop while the restaurant and bar is open from 11.30am-10pm, serving seasonally inspired casual food along with thin based Mediterranean styled pizzas and rotisserie chicken.
Beyond what the menu brings to the table, at sundown the restaurant’s deck opens itself up as the perfect setting for sampling the restaurant’s extensive menu of cocktails and craft beers, in full view of the Sea Point Promenade.
Parents looking for a family-friendly experience, meanwhile, need not worry about sitters as the restaurant features an engaging entertainment area for children along with child-minders.
Strolla will also provide on-site wifi to guests in search of a picturesque work station while, with parking for bikes, is an exciting opportunity for cyclists to stop for a meal or grab-and-go.
In addition, safe parking at Sunset Beach, a MyCiti bus station in front of the restaurant, and its proximity to the beach, make Strolla a boon for both Sea Point locals and visitors who will be able to combine a day of Promenade strolls with casual dining in a scenic setting.
While the Strolla Restaurant is now open, the grand opening on February 24th will be a launch event showcasing the restaurant’s seasonal menu and splendid sundowners.
