Radisson Blu Le Vendome reveals a gourmet festive menu

The Radisson Blue Le Vendome on Sea Point’s Platinum Mile has unveiled the gourmet buffet menu – prepared by executive chef and industry veteran Craig Carmichael – that will be available at its ultramodern La Mer Restaurant and Grill throughout the Christmas season.
The decadent three-course buffet has been carefully designed to accommodate every palate and is guaranteed to deliver authentic South African flavours with international influences.
“I wanted to create a selection of dishes that would appeal to every possible taste. The festive season is about family and friends so my inspiration was to try to bring as many people together as possible and make them feel at home,” said Carmichael.
Starters on offer include everything from cream of spinach and feta soup to ostrich carpaccio with baby leaf spinach, tomato-chilli jam and julienne of cucumber. A garden salad will also be available to complement any choice of meal.
For mains, visitors can choose from a mouth-watering array of dishes, including: grilled chicken fillets with sautéed pak choi, mushroom, and cilantro cream sauce; traditional lamb curry; muscles with tomato, lime and coriander salsa; grilled pepper-crusted beef; and many more.
Dessert will complete the festive occasion with an assortment of delights both traditional and unconventional such as mini pistachio cheesecake, brandy snap baskets filled with black berry mousse, mini mince pies, and a selection of cheese and biscuits.
The Christmas menu costs R600 a person, or R150 for children under the age of 12. Tea and coffee will be served throughout the meal.
