Executive Chef Morné Botha has added flavour to the Park Inn By Radisson Live-Inn Restaurant

The Park Inn Cape Town Live-Inn Restaurant is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. Contributing greatly to this is Executive Chef, Morné Botha. With more than 16 years’ experience in the culinary industry, Morné has a wealth of experience which allows him to combine creativity, skill and hospitality to create the perfect dining experience, every time.

Morné’s love for food begun while spending school holidays in the kitchen with his grandmother who taught him the true value of food and family. Starting his career at the Centurion Lake Hotel in Pretoria in 1994, Morné went on to work at some of the country’s top establishments, including Kievits Kroon Country Estate, The Bay Hotel and Blues Restaurant.

In 2011 Morné commenced his culinary journey with the Carlson Rezidor Group when he was appointed Executive Chef at Park Inn by Radisson Foreshore. During his time in the industry, Morné has carved out his signature style which he refers to as uncomplicated, comfort cooking, making him the perfect addition to the Live-Inn Restaurant which is known for its vibey, relaxed atmosphere and unpretentious meals.

Morné is excited to bring his take on easy eating to the Live-Inn Restaurant menu, drawing inspiration from his love of South Africa cuisine, patron requests and dishes that incorporate local ingredients, the latter of which not only help reduce carbon footprint but support local suppliers.

“My food philosophy is simple: fresh is best, and local is lekker! I look forward to becoming an integral part of the Live-Inn Restaurant adding my personal touch to both the brand and the culinary experience,” says Morné.

Patrons can look forward to fresh ingredients, charcoal-grilled meats and fish, locally inspired specialities, delicious classic dishes, and for the sweet tooth, playful desserts such as cookies & milk (for grown ups).

“As a chef I create consumable art, having respect for my ingredients and respect for where our food comes from. I believe that the best way to celebrate food is to cook with love in your heart and a smile on your face. The final result is always better with these unlisted, yet vitally important, ingredients,” adds Morné.

Morné keeps up to date with all the latest trends in the culinary industry which inspired him to create a new and exciting breakfast menu for the Live-Inn Restaurant, which will be launched on the 23rd of September.

Live-Inn Restaurant is the culinary centre-point of The Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands, nearby both exciting shopping and sports destinations such as Newlands Cricket Ground and Newlands Rugby Stadium.
