Liam Tomlin’s pizza creation for May is the sensationally innovative Lau-Ling – a base of Asian (Vietnamese) style sauce, roasted crushed basmati rice, minced chicken, mint, coriander, shallots, crispy onion, spring onion, fresh basil, chilli, sesame seeds, served with vermicelli salad.  A unique taste sensation that has to be tried!
Born in Ireland, Liam’s career as a chef began at the age of 14, mastering his craft in some of Europe’s finest kitchens.  Liam eventually moved to Australia and in 1997 opened Banc Restaurant in Sydney, which won the 3 Hats Award in 2001. Exceptional standards in service and cuisine secured Liam as one of the finalists for the World Master of Culinary Arts Award.  In 2004 Liam relocated to Cape Town and his latest venture, Chefs Warehouse & Cookery School, offers a combination of retail and culinary education. It is a natural extension of his passion for fine cuisine and training young chefs.
R5 from the sale of each celebrity pizza will again be donated to the Children’s Hospital Trust. This year’s donation will go towards a very special project, the building of South Africa’s first Childsafe Research and Educational Centre which will focus on educating patients’ families and the general public about improving child safety and injury prevention at home.
